One of the main reasons I started a blog was so people could come on the journey of Out of the Shadows with me and experience what it’s like to start a company.
Starting my own company has been a lot harder than I thought it would be and sometimes personal issues can have a big impact on starting a new venture. But all the lessons I have learnt along the way are noted and respected for what they are.
This morning I was part of my first ever podcast with bird podcast. I was so nervous. I have spoken many times to many different people but sometimes I still get nervous because I know there are certain things I can’t or wont talk about. I almost emailed them last night to say I couldn’t do it. That self-doubt from childhood always there just whispering in my ear.
The two lovely ladies from Bird Podcast, Kate and Nina, were amazing. They sent me over some of the questions they may ask me and said right at the start of the podcast that they understood that their may be some questions I may not want or be able to answer. That put me at ease straight away. They both took the time to explain their background and why they are creating these podcasts. They just want people to have a voice. Women after my own heart.
Minutes into the interview the nerves were gone and it was just like talking to someone about how life was for me growing up and my thoughts and feelings on gang culture and CSE. They gave their opinions on certain subjects, so it became a discussion rather than a question and answer session.
I most definitely think further work will take place with these great ladies as we all had a lot of ideas lol
