Walking Beside You: Supporting professionals with lived experience

Walking beside you: Supporting professionals with lived experience
Without a doubt, those with lived experience bring a specific quality to work with children impacted by exploitation and violence. Their voice, experience and perspectives often enable them to engage in a meaningful way and be perceived as credible and authentic. This training is specifically for those professionals who bring lived experience to their practice.

Along with the unique strengths that lived experience can bring its vital to consider how we provide the right support and protection to professionals who bring their lived experience to their work. This training allows for a deeper exploration of a variety of key considerations, such as available support and reflective practice, navigating boundaries, avoiding collusion and safeguarding when people are over or under sensitised to issues faced by those they are working with.

We recommend that this session is delivered to professionals who bring lived experience to their practice, either with children or parents and carers. It can be delivered either face to face or online and is a bespoke training and delivery package which responds to local and organisational need.
Before this training is delivered, we will always offer a consultation meeting to understand your teams needs and how we can best support you to meet them
